The
Score Report has the scores for the youth and/or caregiver
Ansell-Casey Life Skills Assessment (ACLSA). It also has
a summary of the youth and/or caregiver responses.
If
any of the information on the Score Report concerns you,
please contact the parent, teacher, counselor, social
worker or caregiver that asked you to take the assessment.
The
Score Report provides tables with two types of scores
reported for each life skill area.
Percentage
of Mastery Scores: In the first table, youth and/or
caregiver percentage of mastery scores are given. This
is the percentage of questions in each area that were
answered at the highest level ("very much like me"
or "very much like the youth"). An ACLSA total
mastery score provides the overall assessment mastery
score.
At
least 75% of the scored questions in a life skills domain
must be answered in each domain to get a mastery score
for the domain. At least 75% of all the scored questions
must be answered to get a total mastery score.
The
questions flagged with an asterisk (*)
on the Summary of Responses are not included in any of the
score calculations. See the "Summary of Responses"
section below for more information on unscored questions.
A
"--" on the Score Report indicates that an insufficient
number of scored questions were answered to get a mastery
score.
Raw
Score: In the second table, youth and/or caregiver
raw scores are given. This score is calculated by adding
the point value of each response given:
3 points: "Very much like me" or "Very much like the youth"
2 points: "Somewhat like me" or "Somewhat like the youth"
1 point: "Not like me" or "Not like the youth"
The
ACLSA total raw score provides the overall assessment
raw score.
If
one or more of the scored questions are not answered,
a raw score will not be calculated. A "--"
on the Score Report indicates that an insufficient number
of questions were answered to get a raw score.
Beneath
the ACLSA score section is a list of all the ACLSA questions
and the responses given by the youth and/or caregiver.
The questions and responses are listed under each of their
life skill domains.
Important
Note: Some questions have been flagged with an
asterisk (*).
These questions are noted for special attention and review
as they are important for youth self-sufficiency. They
are not included in any of the score calculations.
The
Score Report gives an overall view of the present state
of the youth's life skills. It shows the youth's greatest
life skill strengths, as well as areas offering the greatest
opportunity for growth. Differences or similarities in
the youth and caregiver scores are helpful in getting
a conversation going about life skills development and
preparing the youth for independent living.
